Everything's changing from green to brown...
It's a wonderful time to be in the bush...
Winter is upon us and the wilderness here in the Greater Kruger is slowly changing, shedding the lush greens of summer in favour of the browns that dominate our dry season. The bush is thinning out as trees and shrubs lose their leaves and the glorious shades of autumn start to fade. Verdant grasses are becoming a tawny gold colour that perfectly matches lion’s fur, helping these beautiful big cats to effortlessly blend into their surroundings!
The early mornings and evenings are crisp and chilly, but our days are wonderfully warm, with an average temperature of around 25 degrees C, making our average daytime wardrobe still shorts and flip flops! That’s the luxury of winter here in Hoedspruit – you can still sunbathe and enjoy temperatures that often put European summers to shame!
It’s a wonderful time to be in the bush as our wildlife begins to gravitate more and more towards permanent water, making dams, waterholes and perennial rivers game viewing hotspots, attracting all sorts of wildlife species throughout the days and nights. So don’t be afraid to ask us about holiday options for winter 2021! As much as we would love to welcome you this winter, like everyone across the world we are waiting to see how our phased end to the COVID-19 lockdown is going to play out and what options are going to be made available for those who would like to travel when they are able to do so.
So keep African Trilogy on your travel radar, for now, and dream of the day you can come and visit one of our wonderful properties here in the heart of the South African bush…
We hope to see you soon!
